I would like to tell you about our cartoon series, "Dotcomers". Dotcomers are a gang of retro characters originally created by Joseph Oriolo ("Casper the Friendly Ghost"), owned by James A. Rumpf II, and re-imagined for a new audience. The classic look of the characters blends with a modern and hip YouTube sensibility. The series takes on social issues in a humorous and entertaining way.
Logline:
The Dotcomers, led by brainy sweetheart Honey Dee, have created a social network
of characters that are able to use the Internet to achieve great things despite
corrupt corporations.
Synopsis:
Teenage waitress Honey Dee sees an infomercial from three former U.S. Presidents
and Al Gore that gives her the idea for her own Internet café, Dotcomers, which
the newly homeless Tad the Frog enthusiastically joins. Dubious Diction tramples
on everyone's rights and Parkee the Parrot stages a heated protest at Dubious'
fur factory. Valentine Witherspoon tries unsuccessfully to sell his art to
Dubious. Both Tad and Witherspoon converge on the Hot Dough Diner where Honey
Dee works, and Tad's enthusiasm creates Valentine's "Still Life With Tadpoles".
Honey Dee gets the idea to sell Valentine's art on the Internet. The sale of
Valentine's paintings online buys the Dotcomers headquarters. When Parkee gets
thrown in jail, Kattnap Cat films the whole thing, and Honey Dee uploads the
video to YouTube. The public outcry forces Police Chief Hambone Higginbotham Pig
to set Parkee free. The episode ends with everyone celebrating Dotcomers and
pursuing their goals via the Internet. Dubious vows to close them down.
